Drive

Deliver meals that do a world of good

Every week, a team of generous South Australians delivers delicious meals to people all over the State. If you like to drive and meet great people, start your engine and do some driving for us. It only takes a few hours a week. You’ll have fun and meet some wonderful people who’ll appreciate your visit as much as the delicious food you deliver. Running costs are reimbursed.

For this role

In addition to a car and current valid driver’s licence, a National Police Certificate is required. If you already have one conducted less than 2 years ago, we can accept a copy. If not, we can run a check for you free of charge (and provide you with a copy for your personal use if you request it within the first 3 months of issue).

Cook

Help us nourish people in need

Love to cook? Join our army of cooks, kitchen hands, foodies and friends that operate the Meals on Wheels SA kitchens. They create delicious three-course meals that get home delivered to great people throughout our State. There are many ways you can get involved and, in most cases, we can work around your availability. Who knows? You might end up on MKR!

Connect

Shape events that foster community

You may be surprised to learn that we plan a wide variety of social gatherings for customers of Meals on Wheels SA. These range from lunches in pubs, clubs and our own kitchens to smaller, more intimate functions in coffee shops and homes. We’re scouting for socially conscious people who want to help us plan and run these events.

What our volunteers say

“Meals on Wheels SA is definitely a good organisation to volunteer for. I’m really helping out the people I deliver to and also the organisation. It’s enjoyable and satisfying.”

Cheryl

Volunteer

“Because I’ve been delivering meals for so long now, you can actually see that for some of them that it’s something very special in their day. They really enjoy seeing a friendly face, someone to have a little bit of a chat to, and also knowing they’re going to get a nourishing meal.”

Colin

Volunteer

“You look forward to having a very quick chat to the people that you deliver to. Some of them are waiting at the door, others are in their chairs, but always with a smile, a ‘thank you’ and always full of gratitude.”
