Connect
Shape events that foster community
You may be surprised to learn that we plan a wide variety of social gatherings for customers of Meals on Wheels SA. These range from lunches in pubs, clubs and our own kitchens to smaller, more intimate functions in coffee shops and homes. We’re scouting for socially conscious people who want to help us plan and run these events.
For this role
A National Police Certificate is required. If you already have one conducted less than 2 years ago, we can accept a copy. If not, we can run a check for you free of charge (and provide you with a copy for your personal use if you request it within the first 3 months of issue). We can provide training free of charge if you do not already have a current First Aid Certificate.
What our volunteers say
“Meals on Wheels SA is definitely a good organisation to volunteer for. I’m really helping out the people I deliver to and also the organisation. It’s enjoyable and satisfying.”

“Because I’ve been delivering meals for so long now, you can actually see that for some of them that it’s something very special in their day. They really enjoy seeing a friendly face, someone to have a little bit of a chat to, and also knowing they’re going to get a nourishing meal.”

“You look forward to having a very quick chat to the people that you deliver to. Some of them are waiting at the door, others are in their chairs, but always with a smile, a ‘thank you’ and always full of gratitude.”
